The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to set forth the strategic cooperation, scope of work, and joint responsibilities associated with establishing a comprehensive Digital Education Ecosystem and integrating Future Skills Curriculum within CUA's operations, encompassing both its Higher Education and K-12 initiatives.
This Memorandum formalizes the parties' mutual intent to collaborate on:
- Digital Transformation: Implementing, migrating, and managing cutting-edge IT infrastructure (LMS, SIS) to enhance CUA’s academic and administrative efficiency.
- Curriculum Innovation: Co-developing and launching specialized labs (AI and Cyber Security) and experiential learning programs (Hackathons) to prepare students for the future economy.
The parties agree to collaborate to achieve the following specific objectives:
A. Higher Education Technology and Infrastructure
- Learning Management System (LMS): To implement and integrate a state-of-the-art Learning Management System across all CUA's Higher Education programs.
- Student Information System (SIS): To implement and integrate a robust Student Information System to streamline student lifecycle management.
- Professional Services: To provide expert services including data migration, system integration with existing CUA infrastructure, and long-term managed services.
B. Higher Education Curriculum Development
- AI Innovation Lab: To establish a dedicated AI Innovation Lab on the CUA campus, providing students and faculty with infrastructure, tools, and platforms.
- Cyber Security Lab: To establish a dedicated Cyber Security Lab to provide hands-on training and specialized defensive/offensive security courses.
- Hackathons: To jointly organize and sponsor thematic Hackathons and technical competitions to foster innovation.
A. The First Party (City University Ajman) agrees to:
- Academic & Curriculum Input: Provide all necessary academic requirements, content specifications, and pedagogical guidance required.
- Infrastructure Readiness: Ensure the provision of suitable physical locations, necessary utilities (power, cooling, network access) for the installation of equipment.
B. The Second Party (YAS HOLDINGS) agrees to:
- System Implementation & Delivery: Deliver, install, and configure the agreed-upon LMS and SIS solutions for Higher Education, and the LMS solution for K-12.
- Lab Development & Equipping: Design, supply, and install the necessary hardware, software, and networking equipment for the AI Innovation Lab and Cyber Security Lab.
This Memorandum is valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of signature and will be automatically renewed for successive one-year periods unless one of the parties expresses a wish to terminate it at least three months before expiry.
Communication between both parties for the purpose of follow-up and execution will be done by nominated coordinators, who will be designated in writing after the signing of this MOU.
